As if Forever 21 wasn't enough, Manila will be home to another well known US brand, Payless. This is indeed a joyous moment. Maybe not for the local shoe manufacturers because they have to deal with more competition. But consumers are clearly the winners here. The world is indeed getting "smaller" and there are more choices for every price point you have in mind.
I fell in love with Payless when I went to the US last 2006 (I think). So stylish and affordable. Do not expect comfy shoes because the ones I bought were not. According to stylebible, the first store will be at the Festival Mall in Alabang and will be opening their doors on the 29th of July. So people of the south- you have an advantage for now. Payless will be opening five other branches according to the stylebible article I read. It didn't mention though where these are. But stay tuned.
More on the much-awaited Payless opening. Today in Philippine Star, it said that the opening is scheduled on the 30th of July. So whether it's the 29th or 30th of July, go and visit. I bet you'll be walking out the store with a new pair of shoes.
